Our communication skills are part of what defines us as human. Are there inherent similarities between different languages that can be isolated and visually exhibited somehow?

If you speak a foreign language, you can assist in this artistic study of human communication. All languages welcomed.

Project Components

This project will initally take three forms:

Component I: phonetic transcription visual overlays
Component II: spectrogram visual overlays
Component III: voice audio overlays

Long-term goal: an online interactive resource for linguists and those curious about world languages.

Volunteers:

have their voice recorded speaking words or phrases in a foreign language.
possibly write those words or phrases

Languages covered so far by volunteers. More needed!
